Team Blue!

He's a boy!

We had our anatomy scan on Friday, 7/13/12 and our boy wasn't shy! We got a good shot right away. Chris was pretty surprised because he had a pretty strong feeling it was a girl. I started crying like a baby (I was never really a "happy cryer" until pregnancy). The whole ultrasound took about 45 minutes. Our little boy was in a funny position the whole time, he was lying "Frank breech", that just means  that his butt is facing down and his legs were sticking straight up in front of his body and the feet near the head. This doesn't really mean anything yet in terms of delivery, however it made it difficult for them to get a good picture of the spine, so we'll get another ultrasound in a month. I won't complain about that.

I also learned that I have "anterior placenta" which simply refers to the positioning of the placenta within the uterus. Most of the baby will be hidden behind it. Again, this shouldn't have any impact on delivery or pregnancy, but it may mean that I can have a harder time feeling the kicks of the baby.

Now I get to start planning the nursery. The theme would have stayed the same whether it was a girl or boy, but the colors would have changed slightly.

I was going to include a 20 week picture, a picture of chris and I celebrating, and an ultrasound pic or two, but I'm having a hard time rotating them an dthey're sideways or upside down. So i'll have to include some of those in next weeks post if i'm able to.
